WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The Usos vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno
The Usos are behaving badly as heels. They’ve deliberately abandoned everything they did as faces but it was getting booed anyway. It’s also strange that the heels have already wrestled once and the faces are fresh. That’s completely backwards. Rhyno is over simply because he wrestled in ECW fifteen years ago. That company has the best reputation of any dead promotion. Not having American Alpha in the finals of the tag tournament makes it largely pointless as the Alphas are the reason for SmackDown needing tag belts. The Usos work heat on Slater for what feels like an eternity but at least this leads to a hot tag to a motivated Man Beast. Heath, resident goofball, tags himself back in but Rhyno nails a Gore behind the ref’s back and the unlikely pairing of Heath and Rhyno win the tag titles. The tag titles that were created to showcase tag team wrestling and are won by a team put together specifically to pad out numbers in the tournament. At least Heath has new life, even if the gimmick is Vince comedy.
