Summary: The original broadcast was a disaster but the WWF turned misfortune on its head to produce a decent tape based on the two nights of action. I’m still convinced the finish of the title match was the wrong thing to do and that they should have apologised by running Shawn vs. Bulldog two nights later and putting Michaels over. The aim was to create interest in a rematch but nobody was buying the angle. The tape ends up being stolen by Steve Austin and Triple H, which is appropriate as they’d go on to become two of the WWF’s biggest assets in the growing war against WCW.
Verdict: 78
