Dan Hey: In a rare occurrence, this pay-per-view broadcasts live from Portland Oregon, a city and state which rarely gets major WWE events. It’s a RAW-branded pay-per-view, so the familiar pairing of Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler host. This event follows last month’s cross-branded SummerSlam, where Randy Orton became the youngest WWE Champion in history at the age of twenty-four by defeating Chris Benoit, thus signalling the end of Benoit’s main event push. Benoit lost his mandatory rematch on RAW the following night, where, post-match, Orton’s Evolution stable mates turned on the new champ. So instead of seeing a Benoit-Orton rematch, we have Triple H back in the title mix against a now-babyface Randy Orton.
